Crochet for Improvers – March – with Cathy

From: £150.00

Started a bit of crochet but not sure where to go next? Learn some firm favourites and develop some series hook skills.

In this 4 week series you will learn some epic skills to take your crochet adventure next level!

Stripes and Checks follows on from our Crochet Foundation for Beginners course, exploring a variety of stitches worked in rows and with multiple colours. I
t is a great way to build on your foundational skills, expand your crochet knowledge, and grow in confidence.

Every week we will work on a sample covering a technique, and visual and written resources will be provided.

Week One – Wave stitches – Explore using combinations of double and treble stitches and changing colours to create different striped wavy patterns.

Week Two – Colour work – Learn how to work with multiple colours within a row to create a checked pattern, and will explore the technique further, looking at how to create other shapes and motifs.

Week Three – Chevron stripes – We will learn the chevron stitch, working stitches together and working multiple stitches in the same space to understand the technique and experiment with scale and repeats.

Week Four – Practice and recaps – no new stitch today! We will have some time to practice all the techniques covered, ask questions, and troubleshoot anything we had problems with. You can also bring along a project idea to this session for some advice on getting going.

All materials included in this workshop –  A kit including a selection of colourful yarns and hooks and visual and written resources. You may also bring your own yarn and tools if you prefer, and a notebook is helpful.

This course is suitable for experienced beginners who have a grasp of basic crochet skills and want to increase their knowledge of different stitches and techniques.
