We will start at 11am – break for lunch – sew all day – cup of tea break – finish 6:00pm then beers!
During the day you will learn –
How to interpret and read commercial patterns and follow instructions including notches, grainlines and pressing techniques
How to fully sew a garment, with overlocked seams and a whole lot of gathering
Learn all of my professional techniques, tips and tricks to take your homemade to handmade. Yes there is a difference
What do I bring?
Just lunch and your pattern and cut fabric! We will do the rest.
Before the class starts we will send you your pattern so you can have this cut out before we start. If you are Local, you are able to come to the studio and cut your fabric and I will help you. – So make sure you have enough time….
We suggest lightweight cotton or linen or if you have a little more confidence try rayon or viscose for a floaty feel.
If your fabric is 115cm wide you will need
XS – M 2.6mts, L – XXL 2.8mts, 1X – 4X 3.3mts
If your fabric is 140cm wide you will need
XS – M 2mts, L – XXL 2.5mts, 1X – 4X 2.6mts

The pattern that is yours to keep at the end of the class, so you can recreate this at home again and again and again!
Matching threads for your fabric
All equipment, including sewing machines, overlockers, scissors, rulers, marking chalks and pens, irons and pins are all here for you to use.
We also have a fridge, George Forman grill and tea and coffee so bring a decent lunch and some snacks for in between!
Tesco is just up the road too, and a lovely little cafe is just across the street x

Do I need any sewing experience?
Just a little.We recommend you attend our learn to sew – the basics workshop so you know how we like our machines to be treated. But if you have the confidence then just get here already!
Can I bring my dinner?
Yeah course. We will break at midday, so bring your lunch. We have a bar out the back, plates, cutlery, toaster, jug/kettle butter, salt and pepper you know the basics. Eat up.
I think i'm a bit unwell...
Back off then! I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but everyone’s health is paramount in our studio so stay the fuck away.

Can I bring my own machine?
Why? We have excellent Janome machines in the studio suitable for the task at hand. If you are after some guidance because your machine is being a dick, book a 121 and I can help you out.
