All inclusive knitting experience!
We got it all covered, so stop stressing and start knitting.

This is the perfect series of workshops for those curious about the magic construction of cuff down socks!

Over three weeks you will learn the basic fundamentals of sock knitting so you can knit your feet comfy and warm.

Make Town will provide everything, including

printed easy to follow pattern for cuff down socks,
100% DK weight wool yarn and
bamboo double pointed needles
notebook and pencil
stitch markers

You are welcome to bring or purchase a carry/project bag for your knitting a measuring tape, snips a little container for your stitch markers and row counter.

Take all the guess work out of the equation and lets just get knitting!

What's the plan Stan?

Over three weeks you will learn

About different fibres, yarn and weight suitable for beginners
About different needle sizes and equipment used in knitting socks
How to 1×1 rib, increase and decrease, pick up stitches, turn a heel and how to knit in the round using double pointed needles.
How to measure and count your rows and stitches in your work
How to finish your sock with kitcheners stitch
How to interpret a commercial pattern and follow the instructions
Make a sock yo!

What do I bring?

Remember – All materials are included in this workshop.

You are welcome to bring any notions or equipment you may like to use, or get some advice on – Although we hope that if everyone uses the same materials we can make sure we are all on track together!

At the end of this series of workshops, you will have a basic understanding of sock construction and a lovely knitted sock.

Only thing to do now is get the other one on the needles pronto!

Do I need any previous experience?

Yes! If you have never picked up needles before start here, then you can join in with the next sock workshop

Can I bring my own yarn?

Why would ya? We like for everyone to use the same materials in the class so we can ensure a perfectly finished product. We use 100% aran weight wool.
