Do you have spare time on your hands? Wanna sew for our NHS??

If there is sewing to be done, you will see availability on the calendar. Check daily x

There is a national shortage of scrubs, the essential uniforms for our people on the front line of our NHS.

We are in direct contact with Doctors, nurses and hospital staff who urgently require a few extra sets of scrubs, and with all the time on our hands, let’s do it!

How is this gonna work?

Select a time slot to collect your parcel.

It will contain a paper pattern, a cut of cotton drill for 2 sets of scrubs, thread, labels, elastic and interfacing to be taken home and sewn.

Then you can return a full set of scrubs, with your pattern two days later to Make Town, ready for distribution. Pick up another parcel and #dressthenhs

You must have and use an overlocker, and have competent sewing skills. These garments will need to last the distance and be made to a high standard.

There is a sample on display in the studio, so you can see the quality required and detailed instructions here.

Pattern lay for the garments can be found below. Please check all pattern pieces fit before you start cutting.

Please follow us @make.town and use hashtag #dressthenhs and show our local hero’s we are doing the best we can!

Do you work for our NHS and need scrubs??

Health and Safety

You must be fit and healthy and not showing any signs of any symptoms, I don’t need to explain this to anyone at this point right?

The time slots allow for no person to person contact, in line with Boris and his new rules.

We are on a mission and may not be able to answer your queries, so please check out our FAQ’s or contact the mothership.

Can I help?

How quickly do you need these?

Yesterday!
Please take only one parcel of two sets at a time, you will be able to collect another, when you drop your complete set off, so we can get these out to our NHS sooner rather than later.

I can't leave the house?

Good! Stay there! Sorry, best you just help in another way. Safety is paramount.

Why are you not in Lockdown like Boris told you to?

Good question!
I assure you this is essential work for our people to carry out their work. ALL necessary precautions and more are in place already. We are working with the NHS remember x

What about masks?

We are not sewing masks for now. This effort is for scrubs only, if you would like to sew masks, head to facebook, I’m sure there is a group there for you!
