Workshop offerings – We try to offer a variety of seasonal ‘Workshops’ and invite Special Guest Teachers to expand your creative world. If you are looking to learn something specific that is not listed, check in on the calendar regularly or sign up to our newsletter (scroll down to the bottom) to stay up to date.

Make Town is closed on Bank Holidays, Easter Weekend, the Festive and New Year period & all of August every year.
MAKE TOWN WILL BE CLOSED FROM 27th March – 5th April – Emails and Instagram messages will be picked early April.
Contacting MT – Please refrain from using Instagram or dropping into the studio (unless you are a current MT Member) to discuss projects or your booking without an email confirmation. We run workshops every day which will always take priority. We will be unable to help you. Please email [email protected] for all enquires first to avoid any inconveniences.
All bookings must be made online – It will be easier for all of us in the long run if you create an account as we will be able to access all of your information and track your bookings and payments effectively. We do not have access to all information if you check out as a guest, which means we have limits on how we can assist you.
Rescheduling Workshops – We are unable to reschedule bookings due to the capabilities of our system. Soz about it x
Cancelling your Workshop – You have up to 7 days before the start date to log into your account and cancel your booking for a full refund. After this period, all bookings are final. Refunds will be issued immediately and automatically (through our third party processing agent) to the card you used to make the purchase. This may take up to ten working days but is often much faster.
Last minute cancellations – As a small business, it is not financially viable to offer refunds for last minute cancellations.
Unable to attend – You are welcome to send a friend in your place, just give us a heads up. This does not apply to workshops that run over more than one session.
Special Guest Teacher Workshops – We are unable to offer refunds on these classes. All bookings for guest teacher workshops are final. Please take this into consideration before booking.
Running late – We would appreciate it if you could arrive at the studio 5 minutes before the class starts to ensure you settle in and can start promptly. Arriving late to group classes is disruptive and unfair to everyone. If you are late, we reserve the right to turn you away and you will need to rebook at your own cost.
MT cancelled classes – In the extremely unlikely event that we are unable to run scheduled workshops, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and issue a full refund.
Children – Are considered under 16 and require an adult present while in the studio. 16+ can attend all evening workshops solo. Children from 6 years can attend our ‘Freestyle Weaving Workshop’ and children Year 6 and above can join our Laughs and Crafts After School Club during term time.
Pets – Seeing eye dogs and well behaved furry friends are both welcome in the studio. This is at your own peril and MT take zero responsibility.
Gift Certificates – Virtual certificates are emailed to you or the lucky recipient automatically, while Physical ones will be sent in the post ASAP.
The unique code can can be entered online at the checkout to be used against all workshops and are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. You can check the balance of your certificate on your personal dashboard when logged in. Gift Certificates cannot be refunded, exchanged for hard cash or used towards MT Memberships.
Memberships
Everyone 16+ can join our MT Studio Membership programme.
MT Studio Membership – A fee of £30 inc VAT will be collected from your account each month on the date you first signed up. This will continue on a monthly basis until you log into your account and cancel. We use a programme that is automated, and you have full control. Once a payment has been taken, we are unable to offer refunds. Please log into your account and make the changes for next month.
Discounts – Discounts are applied automatically to the booking when you log into your account. You must be a current MT Member to enjoy the discounts across our workshops. If you have a booking coming up and your membership has lapsed, your booking will be void and refunded. Please ensure you take responsibility for your membership and the monthly fee so you can enjoy the discounts and freedom without disruption.
Booking Friends and Family – You are welcome to use your MT Studio Membership to book your friends and family to join you on a workshop. You must accompany them and participate in the workshop. If you have booked a discounted workshop, and you do not attend, your friends or family will be charged the outstanding Fee for General Public before they start. We reserve the right to redact this generous offer if we believe you are taking advantage and your membership may be cancelled.
MT Members – If you can no longer attend workshops that are FREE and are included in your membership fee (Warping Boards, Cutting Tables & Club Nights) then please cancel his no later than 7 days before the start date so we don’t create a backlog or problems for other makers and can offer your spot to someone else. If we believe you are taking advantage of these offerings we may require you to try your luck by dropping in and void future bookings for a period of time.
MT Members – If you have booked a workshop using your Membership Discount and are now unable to attend and have missed the 7 day cut off period, you are welcome to send a friend in your place. However they will be charged the outstanding Fee for General Public before they start.
Drop In – As a MT Member you can drop in during opening hours 12pm – 6pm Thursday – Friday Saturday & Monday. We cannot guarantee will will have equipment available or able to assist in depth but we will do our best to help. If you want to book a machine, loom or other equipment last minute and we have availability you will be charged (including discounts) per hour at the end of your session. If you wanna play fast and loose we are up for it x
Help Out – This subscription is a koha – a donation. This helps us provide discounted rates for services for charities, schools and Not for Profit organisations. No discounts or access to the studio is included, but we are extremely grateful fo your contribution.
Changing your payment card – If you have been issued a new card by your bank or wish to change what card your Membership Fee is taken from please log into your account. Click – your subscription – change payment and make the changes.
Changing you details – If you would like to update your address or email please log into your account. Click – account details – edit details to make the changes.
Cancelling your Membership – If you no longer want to be a MT Member you can cancel at anytime. No questions asked. Please log into your account. Click – your subscription – edit subscription – upgrade or downgrade and make the changes. You will continue to enjoy your discounts until your renewal date. You are welcome to sign up again at any time.
